Some of the QV cats have brought to my attention that outdoor cats need to avoid jumping into sewer drains on the side of the road. Last month, it was reported that a grey tuxedo cat wearing white socks was last seen jumping into a sewer drain to avoid being squashed by passing cars. I am embarrased to say that one of those vehicles belongs to my human.
Unlike dogs, cats can see the world around them in color. Our eyes can pick up pigments like yellow, blue, and green the most. We like the color yellow especially. We never ignore the color yellow. Apparently, that was what happened to the fella in the grey tuxedo, he saw "yellow" and panicked; not realizing my human's car had already stopped waiting for him to make his next move. Sadly, he chose to jump into the sewer drain. Thinking the stench or the fall might have killed the poor fella, my human called the city and the county to retrieve his body.
A little secret about us cats: we need human intervention to keep us safe. we have no self-control. our emotions are off the charts. we sometimes do things that make no sense because we have no common sense. but we are soooooooo cute.
