I've never braved the great outdoors in my life. It scares me to think that there's a whole different world out there beyond that big white door, where I sit and wait for my human to walk through.
I overheard my human's phone conversation the other day. She was talking to someone about a "giant owl with a wing span of about 6 feet wide". I mewed at her to get her attention. I want to know more about this "giant owl". According to the humans, this giant owl lives in our neighborhood. My poodle friend (uhhuum "ex-friend" - that's another story altogether) once told me about her close encounter with a hawk as a puppy. According to the poodle, the hawk circled above her, getting closer and closer. My human saw what had happened and scooped up the poodle puppy and went inside. The hawk also flew away - empty handed.
My human tells me that she came upon three giant vultures several weeks ago. These scavenging fellas were circling around a squirly road kill but waited until the humans left the scene. She says the buzzards built a nest high up in the trees and that giant bird sightings aren't unique for the neighborhood.
My human is also concerned about the possibility of us cats and small dogs becoming bird food. She also told me about the giant woodpecker too.
I don't ever want to go outside!
